Here is my simple equation for a great fall wardrobe:
High-quality, elevated basics
Denim and bottoms that feel made for your body type
A few soft knits on rotation
A few Heirloom-worthy jackets and coats
A ballerina, boot, loafer, sneaker, mocs/shearling of some kind
A couple decadent bags
Accessories that feel like a signature: vintage scarf, tortoise sunnies, sentimental jewelry
Kicking off a mini series and edit of each — starting with elevated basics. I’ve already immersed into this genre quite a bit lately and have been shopping around to freshen things up! Craving soft ensembles that feel like cozy sweats, but look much more put together and presentable.
Here are 25 pieces I sourced online that I will / would wear all autumn!
**Update: after sharing this, the Almina team sent me a code for you to use since I included so many of their pieces: AshleyK for 15% off! x

First of all, and not pictured: the tee and long sleeve I passionately insist about.
For me it’s always about the material, cut, and how the piece lays / drapes / flatters the body. With joggers and balloon pants, it has to be the right proportion — not too much fabric. I have been looking for cozy soft styles with good materials and found so many gems while putting this edit together! Here are my favorite cotton/poplin pair (and I have tried on a ton) in case you’re in need.
One way I have been elevating a jogger / long cashmere tee combo is by adding the triangle scarf. The amount of times I ended up wearing this accessory last year surprised me!
If you buy one ballerina flat this season, let it be the Fonteyn that I have been praising for years. You won’t regret it. The navy suede is new and delicious!

The bottom left pants look ideal! A good step up from joggers if you want slightly more structure. I ordered them to try on.
I love transitional jackets — teaming a beautiful twill with a cotton or cashmere bottom works wonders. The teaming of black and ivory has been speaking to me too.

While writing this post I discovered a new brand and I am obsessed / ordered a few things! Those joggers look absolutely perfect — I ordered them and this tee and the gray balloon pants.
The shearling mocs are stunning, too. I shared this brand a handful of years ago (I love their house slippers!), and had to share this find as it’s perfect for cold mornings. Also obsessed with something like this.
I love the idea of a matching knit sweater / scarf combo — so beautiful and instantly elevates a cozy look. This photo reminded me of this knit scarf I bought from Etsy last year.

Wrap cardigans, suede or velvet mules, and a luxuriously soft long tee. What is better!!
A few transitional outfit recipes I’ve been wearing lately:
—Long sleeve fitted top, cashmere balloon pants, ballet flats
—Cotton poplin pant, lush knit, mesh flats
—Cashmere fitted long sleeve, cotton balloon pant, jellies
Layer on your favorite bag, sunnies, jewelry and off you go!

I bought this wrap cardigan and love it. I just pre-ordered the white button up (how good is it!), and those joggers are on their way to me, too.
