Visual Diary: North Block Hotel, Yountville

Wine Country

4/03/17

This past Thursday we decided to put on our out of office notes and take a day trip to Yountville. We booked one night at North Block Hotel– the most charming boutique hotel in close proximity to all of the darling Yountville gems, like Bouchon, French Laundry, and Bottega. I have a soft spot for this town after spending NYE week here a couple of years ago…it was the best new years to date because– delicious food, beautiful sceneries, and wine tasting are my kind of way to celebrate.

If you have a thing for crawling vines, twinkle lights, and wisteria covered patios, then you’d love this hotel just as much as I did. AND our bed was honestly the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. Well rested for a fun Friday ahead of us…

I love the warm cozy vibes that replete the walls of North Block and the lovely Redwood restaurant that sits under the twinkle lights and breezy palms. It just felt so relaxing to escape here for a night…exactly what the doctor ordered after a long couple of weeks.

We walked to Bouchon for dinner that evening (always amazing… their bread alone has me always coming back for more) and had a glass of wine and shared a couple of dishes. It’s a great date night spot– we sat outside because Scout came with, but I recommend sitting inside, that ambiance can’t be beat.

On Friday morning we sipped our coffees on our little patio and enjoyed the sun for as long as we could. Checkout came up quickly, so we packed up to start our day. We ended up going to R+D Kitchen for an early lunch (we love their crispy chicken sandwich), and then popped into our favorite tasting room, Hope & Grace.

After a quick tasting, we made our way over to Scribe. It was beautiful but slightly windy! We stuck around and enjoyed our picnic for a couple of hours, and then called it a day and headed back to the city.

Sometimes a quick staycation makes all of the difference. We got home feeling so happy and relaxed…
