We are 1 week out! I’m starting to think about what to pack for our time up there and since I am often asked what to wear in wine country, I thought I would make a note and share some ideas/what I’m bringing. By the way, if you are ever planning a trip, please feel free to reach out! I love seeing these emails come in and helping navigate plans… it’s our happy place and we’ve cultivated such a long list of favorites over the years.
Okay, so wine tasting outfits. I like to keep things casual but elevated! Comfort before anything else when being in the sun, hopping around tasting rooms and restaurants, and truly relaxing. My go-to outfits (depending on the weather) rotates between a light dress, a top and a high waist skirt, or every so often shorts and a top. I wear dresses the most since they are so effortless and pretty idyllic among the grapevines. I also keep looks pretty simple, but like to accent with fun accessories like chic sandals, big sunnies, a beautiful straw hat, jewelry, and a summer-y bag big enough for water, snacks, and room for a bottle or two to take home.
Matt and I are staying in St. Helena for a few nights for wedding festivities and then moving down the road to Yountville for a little mini-moon and to celebrate his birthday! You’ll see wedding outfits soon enough, but here’s what I plan to bring for the mini-moon portion of our trip…
Packing List
always bring our Cuyana weekend bags
Cuyana travel sets for makeup
light pjs –– I just got these and they are the cutest
straw hat –– Janessa Leoné, always. The JADE hat is a good place to start
a couple of pairs of sunglasses –– these are still my fave
2 pairs of sandals (usually nude and black)
1 pair of versatile heels
4-5 dresses (a few for daytime, a couple for evenings)
1-2 skirts
a few versatile neutral tops
denim jacket
leather jacket for evenings
loungewear for morning room service
swimsuits and coverup
workout wear
Beats Pill for hotel hangs
My favorite dress styles are smocked and square neck, wrap dresses, and silk slips. A few examples of pieces I recently bought and are ideal for wine country: this linen wrap in black from & Other Stories and it’s AMAZING. Perfectly light and breezy! An amazing brand to browse for perfect linen dresses is Sleeper! I bought a red one a year or so ago and just got this navy with a tie waist for our trip. I also always love Ganni dresses–– they are perfect for dinner dates in wine country. I just got this one and it’s the cutest… I have this in a few prints but the yellow flowers are my new favorite. And my skirt you have seen a few times, still obsessed and is the perfect piece to wear on a summer day to wine tastings! xx
