So happy to have you here! Wine country has become a big part of our lives, so this wine journal is long overdue. I so look forward to building this library of favorites out over the years, and I hope you enjoy it as well! Matt and I are currently members at a few wineries I wanted to make note of because they are all so special. I couldn't recommend visiting each of them enough if you're nearby! We joined Scribe in 2015, Papapietro Perry in 2017, Cuvaison in 2019, and Three Stix in 2022.
We love them each so much for different reasons (apart from they all have incredible wines and are dog-friendly!). Scribe in Sonoma is so our vibe, we love taking Scout up for a day trip to sit on the hill with a blanket and picnic basket. They will always be special to us. Papapietro Perry is a tasting room in Healdsburg and it has the best pinots I've tasted, it's their specialty. Alpha Omega in St. Helena is very decadent and regal in all senses (total Gatsby vibes which you know I live for), bigger wines too which Matt appreciates (since he's drinking lots of Pinot with me being his wife). And Cuvaison in Los Carneros is just so lovely―the most beautiful property to taste, delicious cheeseboard, and some of my top fave pinots as well! All of their wines are delicious, really.
You know this, I'm a pinot girl… so I have to start here. My ideal pinot noir is light, bright, acidic, and fruit-forward! If a bottle ticks off those notes, I am a forever fan. I tend to love Pinots from Sonoma Coast, Santa Rita Hills, Russian River, and Williamette. I, of course, do venture out and love learning about wines, but on a regular basis, Pinot is the wine I reach for, order, and look forward to. Here are some top favorites…
