The kinds of transitional things we can start to collect and invest in now—and wear as the season begins to slowly shift…
I love starting with the items I wear the most (and bonus points if they can be worn in other seasons as well). I tend to lean on super simple classic t-shirts as my foundation come f/w and then love to inject color, texture, and personality into the accessories and jackets. I am sure you know this about me by now, but shoes / jackets / bags are my weakness. Sweaters are an entire post of their own, as you know, but let’s start with the pieces that team perfectly with early fall jeans and a tee!
My go to t-shirts
I always look to spring and fall as the perfect time to refresh any tees that need to be replaced! Here are some of my most worn favorites…
Ballet Flats
Currently eyeing an assortment of ballets. The expected decadent suede caramels—along with jewel tone satins and velvets, metallics, and of course—bedazzled. I have been a longtime dabbler of sequined or sparkly shoes and I love when the trend recirculates and the web starts to feel full to the brim with bejeweled possibilities…
A quick note on this topic as someone pinged me with this one. In terms of investing in “trends”—I think it’s important to evaluate 1) how many ways can you integrate this trend piece with what you have and wear 2) does it truly speak to you and bring joy? I remember when I got my pvc embellished heels for my wedding year, how much I absolutely loved wearing them. To dressier occasions but honestly even more so to super casual cuttings like happy hour or date night. Because I loved them so much, they became apart of my style identity. And over the last handful of years, I have still loved each and every time I slip them on. So while this current clear foot frenzy might be a fleeting trend to some, it will remain part of my sartorial statements that excite me.

Western / Riding Boots
A common favorite to highlight each season, western and riding boots always call my name come fall. I saved a handful of styles my eyes are drawn to, in terms of shape and color. Boots can be pricey, but there are so many similar looking styles around the web in a variety of price points. Here is some inspiration while hunting for the perfect boot…
Straight leg denim
Love a straight leg to rely on this time of year. I really like a cropped leg with a bit of room around the ankle to balance out the femininity of a ballet flat. Also a perk for tucking your ankle boots effortlessly on the inside of your denim. Some style I have bookmarked recently…
Beautiful jackets to layer
Jackets were the first big investments I made to my closet that truly made such an impact. I treasure my jacket collection and have lived in them throughout the years. They make an outfit, and oftentimes dictate what I decide to wear because of how much I crave the fun they bring to an outfit.
This is my big tip—save up for 1 nice jacket a season. Don’t spend your money adding a few fast-fashion finds to your cart. Instead, make a list of favorites you find online and think it through before clicking order. Browse around and see if there are any current promos or sales. Look to secondhand retailers or frequently pop into vintage shops. Trust me, when you slowly start to accumulate 1-2 nice pieces, you’ll see the value they add and you will feel so good about getting dressed all season long.
Oversized leather jackets, unique jean jackets, thick linen blazers, and beautiful suede motos.
Last, but definitely not least—bags!
Some of my favorite styles. Logo-free, beautiful material, and equal parts stunning and practical—long-haul mainstays.
