If you asked me what my favorite thing about summer is—I would tell you it’s the sensory experiences first thing in the morning. Drawing up our shades to blue skies. Opening the window and feeling the cool morning breeze and the birds chirping. The smell that fills the air as lawnmowers weave back and forth down the grass. Summer has always seemed to be more of a feeling to me.
I’ve been spending a lot of time outside each morning (and evening when it cools down to the ideal 70º) and savoring the last stretch of the season. Giving my garden some love, my soul some Vitamin D, and my linen things their time to shine.
I’m in a phase right now, I’m calling it ‘recovery mode’ — trying to ground myself again. Feel present in the moment and simply enjoy my days as they unfold… and in my humble opinion, there’s not a more fitting time of year than the last bit of summer to help me dial into calmness and clarity.
Linking this lovely top / shorts / sunglasses (old, similar here) combo here — and a handful of favorite Net-A-Porter summer saves of late (such good stuff at the moment!) if you keep scrolling xx
