Savoring the Season: Fall

The heartiest season is here to savor

I burst with joy when I wake up and notice a glimmer of change in my home this time of year. The familiar buttercream-toned light flecks shine through the dancing leaves. I love seeing that movement on our walls each day while enjoying my coffee. Light is always the first sign of fall here in California. It (literally) hits different when the season begins to shift. End of summer mornings and evenings are a sweet sampler of what's to come!

In my mind, fall feels quite Gatsby. Regal as can be. When I think about rituals and plans this season, the scenes I envision are straight up out of a movie set. Falling leaves, candle-lit dinners, cooking dinner in the kitchen with jazz. You know I can't go a year without inserting a quote from my all-time favorite book—life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall. It's such a beautiful sentiment and so true. An opportunity for a fresh start is romantic and mysterious in equal measure. I live for it.

This is the time of year to take notice of nature and the changes in light and color around us. I love grabbing a latte this time of year and doing hikes to savor the beauty. It's also the perfect time to romanticize your life and come up with new plans and rituals that uplift and inspire you...

Think of it as a seasonal bucket list, what would you love to do?

I'n case you'd like to start dabbling in autumnal tunes you can listen to my playlist here. I also really like listening to this jazzy playlist, too, while driving or cooking. Such a vibe. Every moment in your day is a chance to set a dreamy scene for yourself. You're the director, take action whenever you please.

Cozy Kit

The cool start to my days and evenings unwinding have inspired me to re-engage with some of my coziest things. I always reorder my favorite Hanes socks, treat myself to a new pair of sweats, and begin to reach for my lushes knits.

Harvest season

We were just in wine country for labor day weekend and it was so fun to see the vineyards dripping with grapes. Harvest season has arrived!

In other news, I am about to embark on planting my first fall garden. Wish me luck! A few things below dedicated to putting in the work and enjoying the fruits of your labor. A couple notes for you! This rainboot brand is new to me, but looks so timeless and chic. The market bag is excellent to have on hand for toting wine and anything you're contributing for dinner parties—we use it a lot for weekend road trips, too. Lastly, if you haven't hunted down an incredible vintage vase yet, this is your nudge. I have been collecting vintage vases for years now—a Barovier rostrato piece was my first investment half a decade back, and it makes flowers on display a million times more joyful. Personally in love with vintage Italian murano.

Cheers to harvesting and collecting little luxuries in life...

Warmth of home

A little edit of beautiful home things and ideas to bring an added layer of comfort to your space. I have sconces throughout our home (obsessed with sconces/mid-level light) and one of the many reasons I love wall lighting is the opportunity to easily change things up. Shades for all seasons! I love clip on shades and have collected an assortment to rotate in and out of the year. Thinking tan gingham may make an appearance soon.

I also love velvet, even just a seasonal pop of color throw pillow to change the look and feel of your living room. Dreamy candle sconces, heavy-weight linens, captivating scents, and bold home accents feel inviting and right on theme, too.

May your fall be full of wonder and whimsy... xx
