We still have a bit of summer left to enjoy (especially here in San Francisco), so I made a little list of things I’d like to do to take advantage of summer’s warm vibe! It has been beautiful lately, sunshine, 70º’s, and barely any wind. This next week looks glorious so I am planning to jump on some of these sooner rather than later. In case you’re inspired to create a bucket list of your own… here are mine!
Make floral ice cubes for summer cocktails
Such a fun experiment for cold bevs or even to keep rosé bottles cool. I just used organic flowers (to ensure they were clean, with no pesticides, etc.) and threw them in Matt’s whiskey ice cube tray. I’m going to experiment a little bit more and use these for an upcoming girls night.
Test a sangria recipe
I have always wanted to make my own sangria… I found this healthy version and plan to take a stab at it soon!
A couple more San Francisco beach days
It’s not often the temps are high enough to pull this off, so we are taking advantage this weekend with a beautiful forecast ahead. We love going to Baker Beach, it feels like a mini-vacation!
Breakfast Picnic at Fort Mason
I love heading to Fort Mason in the morning when it’s calm and quiet (pre ‘frat’ mason shenanigans in the afternoon). I used to live even closer to the park than I do now and would pack a blanket and book and pick up an iced coffee and breakfast sandwich to-go and it was such a lovely way to start a weekend day.
Drive over to Sausalito for the Afternoon
Another must while Indian Summer is in full swing, is a day spent by the waterside in Sausalito. I love going to Bar Bocce (pizza and sangria, always), Sam’s Anchor Cafe, or Fish for lunch!
Head to a baseball game
To be honest, I’m not a huge baseball fan or anything, but the experience of going to a game feel so summery and nostalgic to me. I grew up going to A’s games with my dad, and so it’s been on my mind lately. Matt is an A’s fan, too, so we’ve been plotting a game day to go to soon!
BBQ as much as I can
Backyard hangs are my favorite (still in need of one of those!) so will accept any invite at any time.
Ocean Beach Bonfire
I haven’t done a bonfire at OB in years! I used to quite a bit when I first moved to the city. This is a big one on my list!
Read a book waterside with no interruptions
I don’t know the last time I truly fell deep into a book while laying by the water. I am starting to research page-turners for Italy, so if you have any recs, please do share!
What’s on your end of summer bucket list?
