A question I’m asked often is how I decide on investment pieces and my thoughts on curating a closet I love. I am so excited to be working with Moda Operandi for my first time and thought this would be a perfect opportunity to dive into this a little bit more!
I have been a fan of Moda for many years. I especially love shopping their trunkshows––it’s so fun to be able to browse pieces straight off the runway and invest in things that will stand the test of time. Their selection is always classic and tasteful, too, making it easy to put a deposit down on something for a season ahead. I always gravitate to the timeless staples like leather bags, structured blazers, silk pieces, sleek shoes, denim, and knits.
They always have the best brands, too. Some favorites are amidst trunkshows (that are ending soon!): Zimmerman, Staud, Toteme, Brock Collection, The Row, Rylan Studio, and Ulla Johnson. I also feel like I’m always discovering new labels when browsing Moda. I got to know Acler a bit better while sifting through their trunkshow and I am now a HUGE fan. In love with this, this, and this. Need them all!
I’ve noticed over the last couple of years while rebuilding my closet (after a big closet cleanse) that the pieces I keep around and endlessly love and reach for are timeless pieces. I also like to buy from the same brands, the labels who speak to me and continue to inspire me. My eyes are trained at this point to spot out capsule-like things that are incredibly versatile, fit like a dream, and just look and feel high-quality. You know that feeling when you put something on that you really love and it just makes you feel yourself, put together, and confident? Those are the kind of things I look to add to my closet.
I’ve realized this past year that my closet should be treated as a special collection. It’s not just filled in with anything and everything anymore, it’s carefully considered and special. The mantra { quality over quantity } becomes more and more prominent in all aspects of my life as the years go by! More on this topic to come soon as I want to continue to make note of how my style is evolving and what I will be adding to my wardrobe this season in hopes to help you build a collection of pieces you love too. Here are some of my favorite trunkshow finds that are forever-worthy… xx
